America’s Cup Preliminary Regatta, Sardinia

Signexa Broadcast supplies Lawo mc²56 MkII surfaces and Nova73 cores for the America's Cup Sailing

The America’s Cup returned to competitive racing this May, and Signexa Broadcast was part of the production behind it. For the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup Preliminary Regatta in Cagliari, we supplied two Lawo mc²56 MkII 48-fader surfaces along with Nova73 HD cores to OB provider Timeline TV, delivering two dedicated submix audio facilities into the host production.

Held on the Bay of Angels from 21 to 24 May 2026, the regatta was the opening event of the Road to Naples 2027 and the first time the fleet had raced competitively since Barcelona. Five teams fielded eight one-design AC40 foiling yachts, capable of speeds beyond 40 knots, across a series of fleet races that fed the leading two boats into a deciding match race.

Live sailing coverage is one of the more demanding mixes in broadcast. The submix facilities included two Lawo Nova73 HD cores each with mc²56 MkII 48-fader surface. Each core included five DSP cards allowing expanded signal processing. The two systems where linked over MADI into Timeline TV’s Calrec Apollo and RTS Comms system integrating cleanly into the host broadcast mix and keeping the architecture simple and robust across the four days of racing.
